Soccer Analyst Chris Sutton Faces Off Against Artist Olly Murs in Top Flight Predictions

The Gunners' 10-game winning run was ended by Sunderland before the international break, but can the English top division leaders recover against local foes Tottenham this Sunday?

"{I believe like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a plan for this game," remarked football expert Chris Sutton.

"Frank will try to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling finest this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's side usually still find a way to win."

Sutton is making predictions for all 380 Premier League fixtures this term, versus artificial intelligence, readers and a range of guests.

In week 12, he faces performer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United supporter.

The singer's new album, Knees Up, is available on Friday.

Soccer and Family Life

Olly is a talented footballer as well as a accomplished artist and has been a star of multiple charity football matches over time - but he is not intending a professional return as a player.

"{I actually played in a charity match the other evening for a mate of mine," he explained. "My side was trailing 3-1 when I was substituted in the 60th minute, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can interpret that what you want!

"I still love football, but I injured my knee a few years ago and it even now isn't where I want it to be. I hope I could play more but the unpredictability of the sport means it's too risky for me in my profession to do it properly again.

"Plus I am forty-one now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am preparing for the time that my child or son chooses to play instead."

The singer and his spouse his partner have two children, their daughter and Albert, and he is prepared to emulate his dad by becoming their coach.

"I won't push football on our children but I've previously told my wife that if they happen to get the passion for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will likely be managing their Saturday football side," he said.

"I watched my nephews play a lot, and I really got into it, and I clearly was involved with a soccer team for a while too.

"My dad did it with us when I was a kid, which is likely where I inherited it. He coached our team for several years and had great fun with it. That might be the future for me as well, and I am excited to it!"

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

Chelsea may have to wait a bit longer for Cole Palmer's comeback from injury but their offense is now more potent with Joao Pedro and Delap both returned to fitness.

I still think this game will be fairly close, however. The Clarets are well organised and their only at Turf Moor losses so far have been against Liverpool and Arsenal.

It suggests a one-all tie to me, but I am in fact going to choose Chelsea to win narrowly for what would be their third consecutive league win in a row.

The expert's forecast: 1-2

The singer's prediction: Chelsea will be too strong. 1-3

AI's prediction: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Cherries have been defeated in their previous couple games - although both of them were away - but they got absolutely spanked by Aston Villa last time out which shocked me.

On the other hand, West Ham secured back-to-back victories before the hiatus and, although both of those games were at their stadium, they do look competitive again.

West Ham's sole on the road victory this season came at Nottingham Forest in August, when West Ham manager Nuno Espirito Santo was still that team's coach.

Therefore, what exactly do I go with here - will it be the Hammers continuing their streak under Nuno, or Bournemouth responding?

I am going to choose the Cherries, because I believe what happened against Aston Villa was a anomaly.

The pundit's forecast: 2-0

The guest's prediction: The home team are performing strongly but West Ham have picked up under their boss. 2-2

AI's prediction: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Brentford were considered one of the favourites for the drop before the season started, but they have impressed a few observers under their manager and are in fine fettle with three in their past four matches.

My son told me to get Brentford striker Igor Thiago in my fantasy soccer team a few weeks ago and, unfortunately, I ignored the advice.

The forward will likely find the net again on Saturday but I am nonetheless not going to select him or support the away side at Brighton's ground.

The Bees have not had great success on the road this term, and the Seagulls are consistently strong at home. The visitors will attempt to attack on the counter-attack but I think Fabian Hurzeler's side carry much more of a danger.

Sutton's prediction: 2-1

Olly's view: It could be one of those games where you expect there is going to be a many goals but it in reality turns out to be rather tight. 1-1

AI's prediction: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

It is a huge fixture for Fulham, who have lost five of their past six matches.

They have got plenty of quality in their squad but it still seems like they could be dragged into a drop zone fight.

As for Sunderland, indeed they are the unexpected success of the Premier League season so far.

Their display in the 2-2 tie with the Gunners last time out was excellent. We've not seen any other team rough up the Gunners like that this season, and they were more than a match for them.

The sensible thing to do to support the visitors here, because they are clearly able of disrupting the hosts up too and, the previous occasion they were in this part of London, they defeated Chelsea at the end of October.

But I am not choose that. Instead, I really need to carry on opposing Sunderland with my forecasts. I am taking a lot of responsibility for their good outcomes because they clearly enjoy to prove me wrong.

Considering the home side's at Craven Cottage form, the only side they have been defeated by is Arsenal. Their manager's side will be extremely desperate for a good outcome, so I am going to say they will secure three much-needed points.

Sutton's prediction: 1-0

The guest's choice: I know the visitors are performing strongly and also that Fulham are on a bad run... but they have nonetheless been decent at home this campaign. 2-0

AI's outlook: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

It is a tough one to predict. The Reds have lost seven of their past 10 games in every tournament, but might they be one of the teams who profit from the {international break|
