Iranian Forces State Assault on American Facility in Bahrain, Amid Regional Counterattacks.
Iranian forces say they have struck a American military facility in Bahrain, as the country executed missile attacks throughout the Middle East in retaliation for a significant and ongoing attack against it by the US and Israel.
Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an zone close to the command center of the American Fifth Fleet in Bahrain's capital, Manama. The scope of any destruction is unclear and the US has not commented.
Missile Defenses Activated
In other parts of the Middle East, the United Arab Emirates, the State of Qatar and the State of Kuwait - all home to American military installations - said they have engaged and destroyed missiles in their air space.
In Doha, Qatar's defence ministry said it had intercepted several missiles seemingly aimed at the Al Udeid Air Base, the largest American base in the region.
IRGC Statement
Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) declared it was targeting US bases and assets as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in retaliation for the strikes on the Islamic Republic carried out by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday morning.
That initial attack - initiated at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far struck sites linked to the the regime, with US President Donald Trump encouraging the Iranian people to revolt against the government.
Wider Impacts
In the State of Israel, sirens were heard nationwide after the Israeli military stated it had identified an incoming Iranian missile barrage.
The Ministry of Defence of the UAE stated that the nation has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"UAE air defence systems responded to the missiles with notable success and destroyed a series of missiles," it added.
It said missile fragments landed in a residential area in the capital, causing some structural damage and fatalities.
The United States Air Force is stationed at the Al Dhafra base, to the south of the Emirati capital, along with the Emirati Air Force.
