Comedian and author David Walliams dropped by publishing house.

David Walliams

Prolific writer for children and entertainer David Walliams has parted ways with his publisher HarperCollins UK, as confirmed by the firm.

An official for the company commented: "After careful consideration, and under the leadership of its new CEO, HarperCollins UK has decided not to publish future works by David Walliams."

Media sources suggest that the conclusion was reached following an review of reports of inappropriate behaviour directed at young women.

The company declined to specify the motivations for this action, stating: "We refrain from speaking about internal matters."

A Prolific Literary Career

Walliams ranks among Britain's most best-selling authors for kids, boasting over more than 60 million copies internationally in 55 languages.

His first children's book, *The Boy in the Dress*, came out under HarperCollins in 2008.

Several of his titles, for example *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have subsequently been turned into TV movies.

He has published in excess of 40 works in total, encompassing a holiday title titled *Santa & Son*, which came out under HarperCollins last autumn.

Television and Literature

He first rose to fame on the broadcast sketch program *Little Britain* and has been honored with National Television Awards for his work as a judge on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was made an OBE back in 2017 in recognition of his work for the charitable sector and arts community.

This move occurs subsequent to the naming of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's recent CEO this past October.
