Barça Set to Play Historic Match at Upgraded Camp Nou over the weekend
Barcelona have announced they are set to host at the renovated but unfinished Camp Nou over the weekend. Athletic Bilbao will visit Athletic Bilbao in La Liga over two years following their departure for construction to commence.
“Returning home was our dream. Finally, it’s happening. We are back at Spotify Camp Nou.”
Attendance will be limited though over 45,000 attendees will be allowed to watch as per the current authorization. Once fully finished, the Camp Nou is due to hold close to 105,000 fans, increasing from the former 99,000. Officials confirmed recent additions comprise a new players’ tunnel plus modern locker rooms.
Recent Activities
Barcelona held a public practice on the home pitch earlier this month. The club said they are seeking authorization by UEFA to play their next home Champions League game versus the German side on 9 December in the renovated venue. Their recent games have been held in the temporary ground.
