Anthony Joshua Released from Medical Facility in Lagos Following Deadly Car Crash
The British boxer Anthony Joshua has left the medical facility, Nigerian authorities confirmed on Wednesday night. The fighter was involved in a car accident outside Lagos on the 29th of December, a tragic incident that resulted in the deaths of two of his team members.
Healing from Light Wounds
Joshua had been receiving medical attention while recovering from minor injuries, representatives had said on Monday. The Lagos state commissioner for information, Gbenga Omotoso, announced via a post online that Joshua was judged healthy enough to “recuperate at home”.
“The boxer and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to pay their final respects to his two deceased friends as they were being readied to be sent home,” the commissioner stated.
Honoring the Deceased
The victims of the crash were named as Latif Ayodele, a fitness coach, and Sina Ghami, a conditioning specialist. Omotoso added that the champion was filled with sorrow and overcome with emotion over the tragic loss of his two trusted companions.”
This update on his health comes as the boxing community offered condolences for the fighter in the wake of the devastating accident.
